In the second year of the awards, ABC Awards has been shortlisted in the category for Innovation of the Year, sponsored by the British Council, for our new MOT Testing products. This includes a new interactive microsite, online Annual Assessment and new MOT qualifications developed with the DVSA.
Other awarding organisations shortlisted for the category are the Association of Corporate Treasurers, Digital Assess and YMCA Awards. The other categories in this year’s FAB Awards are for Awarding Organisation of the Year, Team Contribution of the Year, Qualification of the Year and Individual Contribution of the Year.
Paul Eeles, Chief Executive of the Skills and Education Group which consists of ABC Awards, ASDAN and emfec, said:
“All of us at ABC Awards are delighted to have been nominated for the second year in a row for a FAB Award, this time for recognition for our innovative online MOT microsite. The microsite is not only a portal for Testers to complete the new mandatory MOT Annual Assessment but also a valuable resource for all those working in the automotive sector to understand the changes that the DVSA has implemented.
“Colleagues at ABC Awards from across every department have worked together cohesively and within tight time frames to bring this project to fruition and I am thrilled that we have received so many positive comments from across the industry about the approach we have taken and the ease of access the microsite has provided for MOT Testers across the country.
“The team should be proud of their achievement I hope they go on to win the award for their hard work.”
The awards recognise the contributions made by awarding organisations and their employees to education and skills in the UK over the past year.
Stephen Wright, FAB Chief Executive, said:
“The standard of entries received for this year’s Awards were exceptionally high and the decision on who was shortlisted was incredibly difficult. We have a fantastic range of finalists and we will be announcing the winners at the Awards dinner in October.”
The 2016 results will be announced at the FAB 2016 Awards dinner, which is being held at the end of the first day of the FAB Conference on 20 October at the Marriott Hotel in Leicester.
In the inaugural year of the FAB Awards in 2015, the qualifications development and assessment team at ABC Awards was shortlisted for the Team Contribution of the Year after being nominated internally by the staff at ABC Awards.
