We are delighted to announce that the ABC Awards Level 3 Diploma in Aromatherapy is now recognised by three leading industry membership bodies.

Learners who complete the Level 3 Diploma can now become members of the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT), the British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (BABTAC), and the Complementary Therapists Association (CThA).

The Level 3 Diploma in Aromatherapy is a regulated qualification, developed in association with Skills for Health. The qualification focuses on a range of practical skills and underpinning knowledge of aromatherapy and the wider complementary therapies industry to support learners in preparing for work as complementary therapists.

In addition to the Diploma in Aromatherapy, the following complementary therapies qualifications are also recognised by professional bodies:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Massage (BABTAC, FHT, CThA)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology (BABTAC)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Complementary Therapies (CThA)

Particularly in the complementary therapies and natural healthcare industry, membership to a professional body can be extremely beneficial, offering practitioners continuing professional development opportunities, relevant insurance policies, and a network of fellow professionals to share experiences with.

Membership also demonstrates that practitioners have achieved the relevant experience, qualifications and skills to practice professionally and meet the high standards the professional bodies maintain. Each membership body offers a unique set of benefits so practitioners can choose the package which best suits their needs as a practitioner.

Learners who have completed an ABC Awards Level 3 Diploma in Aromatherapy, Massage Therapy, Complementary Therapies or Reflexology are also eligible for voluntary registration to the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).

The CNHC supports complementary therapies and natural healthcare practitioners by providing a register of complementary therapists who have been assessed as meeting the UK standards of safe and competent practice. This register helps individuals to find a suitable practitioner for their needs and supports employers in recruiting.
