If creativity is in your genes and you are wanting to explore various art and design practices, ABC Awards offer over 50 different Certificates, Awards and Diplomas UK wide, in topics such as art, design and creative studies, graphic design and more.
One such Centre, artcoursework.com, is the UK’s oldest Online College of Art and Design (OCAD), specialising in art, design and media courses, all of which are accredited by ABC Awards.
The ABC Awards Level 2 Certificate in Art,Design and Creative Studies is a great beginner to an intermediate art course, and can be specifically tailored to learners who may suffer with stress, anxiety or have special educational needs. The flexibility that comes with delivering our qualifications really allows Centres to home in on what their learners need to develop and learn.
We talked with Emily Parker, a student at artcoursework.com, who is studying our Level 2 Certificate in Art, Design and Creative Studies. Emily said:
“My anxiety problems meant that I was pulled out of school, but I still wanted to keep learning. I saw this course at artworkcourse.com and it looked like the best one for me and the most intriguing.”
Emily enjoys all kinds of creative mediums but is particularly drawn to painting, drawing and the illustrative side. She’s currently working on a music themed project which she hopes to add to over time. Emily tells us why this qualification has been great for developing her skills:
“This qualification helps me to explore what I find both most therapeutic, and challenging. I am able to convey my passions such as music, in various artistic forms.”
The qualification has a strong practical focus developing not just skills but knowledge and understanding of art and design and the work of other artists, but also confidence. Emily comments about the flexibility of her learning experience:
“I am encouraged to delve into other areas of exploration, which is useful for those like me who find it quite daunting trying something new which brings the initial panic of doubt. Since doing this course, I have become a little more confident in that aspect.
“I have found that the course is quite open to letting you try whatever you want, but also guides and prompts you if you are suffering from a blank or broad canvas of ideas.”
On successful completion of her course, Emily will receive a Level 2 Certificate in Art, Design and Creative Studies, and will be able to progress onto a whole range of other ABC Awards qualifications including our Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Art, Design and Media.
Commenting on the benefits of working with ABC Awards, artcoursework.com, said:
“Choosing a Level 2 Certificate over an iGCSE means that there is no exam to attend at the end. Instead, coursework is assessed online by the exam board examiner, which is ideal for students who suffer from exam stress and for those who don’t work well under pressure.
“Equally valuable, graduates achieve a specialist portfolio that expresses their personal brand of art and design, enabling access to top universities and employment as a professional qualified Artist or Designer.”
Emily’s plans for the future are wide open in the creative field, but she hopes to become a freelance artist/illustrator and author with the plan of going to art school to continue her learning journey. She adds:
“I have enjoyed my experience on this course, and it has improved my skills artistically, which has been good to see change over the past couple of years. I just wish there was room on the course to fit all of my ideas in!”
We wish Emily all the very best with her future career in this growing sector.
