We are delighted to advise you that our popular Additional Learning Support Network has now been added to our Autumn programme of events. This online event will provide an opportunity for ALS specialists from across the further education and skills sector to come together to discuss, explore and share best practice on all matters relating to Additional Learning Support (ALS), Special Education Needs and Disability (SEND) and Learners with Learning Difficulties and/or Disabilities (LLDD).
The meeting will be chaired by Pat Brennan-Barrett, Principal and Chief Executive of Northampton College, and during the event, Pat will be providing an update from November’s AoC SEND Delivery National Policy and Special Interest Group. In addition, we are delighted to welcome Liz Maudslay, Policy Officer for SEND/LLDD, Association of Colleges, will be sharing the AOC's perspective on SEND reforms; plus, there will also be input from Sarah Le Good, Head of Inclusion at Derby College Group, and Elaine Dale, Director of SEND Support and Nursery, City College Norwich who have kindly agreed to provide an update around SEND Centres of Excellence which has a focus on 'Our new normal and approaches: what's positive and possible during the pandemic'.
This collaborative Zoom event will offer those attending an opportunity to ask questions, debate current advice and guidance, and share practice. Participants to the network are requested to indicate any particular topics or areas of interest that they would find it beneficial to discuss e.g. completion of EHCPs, stakeholder involvement etc. prior to the event, so that these topics for discussion can be noted for the agenda.
