Following on from our successful SustainabilityMeet in July, which attracted a range of contributors from across the further education sector, this online session continues the theme of sustainability and focuses on how our environment can affect the mental health and wellness of learners, staff that we manage and work alongside, and ourselves.
So, what is environmental wellness and why is it important for our mental and physical health?
This informative and engaging session will be delivered by physiotherapist, coach and author, Kim Rutherford. Kim has previously delivered a wide range of events for us on the theme of mental health and wellness, and the aim of this session is to acquire a deeper understanding of how environmental wellness is key to our overall physical and mental wellbeing.
In particular, the session will seek to address the following:
- How individual personality traits influence our choice of preferred environments
- The benefits of engaging and interacting with our preferred environments
- The different ways we can interact with nature for improved wellness.
This online session utilising Zoom will provide attendees with ideas and guidance on the topic of environmental wellbeing and how this can support positive mental health and wellness. Facilitated by Karen Plowman (Head of Professional Development, Skills and Education Group), participants will be encouraged to ask questions and share ideas, enabling effective collaboration throughout the session.
