Our autumn term meeting of this regular network will offer an opportunity for all those who are involved in post-compulsory teacher training and education a chance to come together to discuss key drivers in the sector.
We are delighted to be joined by colleagues from Leicester College who underwent an Ofsted inspection under the revised Initial Teacher Education Handbook in May 2021. Higher Education Manager, Gail Hall and Programme Lead, Helena West will be sharing their Ofsted experience in terms of how the inspection was undertaken, their involvement and that of their learners, mentors and providers, and how the process is supporting them in the development of their teacher education programmes moving forward.
There will be plenty of opportunity for the sharing of practice and collaboration; in particular, offering those attending a chance to discuss developments such as the Skills for Jobs White Paper and how this has been influential in developing the new Occupational Standards.
As part of these discussions, we are pleased to welcome back Dan Williams, Programme Lead and Lecturer for Post-14 Initial Teacher Education, Derby University. Dan has kindly offered to come along and contribute to discussions in relation to the topics being discussed and to share how Derby University are preparing for their revalidation process.
Facilitated by Karen Plowman (Head of Professional Development), this networking event will offer plenty of opportunity for you to collaborate and share practice with others who deliver post-compulsory education.
Delegates are welcome to join us in person to enjoy a networking lunch at 12:15 prior to the event; alternatively, please feel free to access the event remotely via Zoom once proceedings start at 13:00.
