We are delighted to welcome back Vicki Stockdale to re-establish our popular Safeguarding Network which provides support and advice for all those involved with safeguarding in their organisations.

Vicki is now our regular facilitator for this networking event, and following a successful re-launch last year, we are pleased that Vicki will be continuing in this role for the Skills and Education Group.  With over 20 years’ experience working in FE in a variety of management roles including that of Safeguarding/Looked After Designate and more general support roles, and now working as a consultant, her experience includes acting as Designate Safeguarding Lead for a national training provider and providing refresher safeguarding training for a local FE provider.

Vicki is a passionate advocate of initiatives to enhance the experience of our FE students.  Under her leadership, her previous college was the first FE college to achieve the Carers Federation Standards Award. Her team was also delighted to receive the accolade of winning a NAMSS Team award, and to be shortlisted for a TES support award.  Vicki has plentiful experience of Ofsted inspections, with a previous Ofsted report making direct reference to the exemplary safeguarding practice and outstanding support provided by her team

Topics for this meeting will include:

  • A regional update by Sam Slack, East Midlands Regional Prevent Coordinator, HE/FE)
  • The impact of any KCSIE updates that came into force in September
  • A review of 2021/22 and any particular issues/concerns that have arisen and/or need to be addressed.

We know that networking works best face-to-face, and as such we hope that you will be able to attend the meeting in person at Robins Wood House, Nottingham.  We look forward to welcoming you to this informative and collaborative event with the official meeting starting from 09:30 followed by a networking lunch from 12:15.
