As part of emfec’s long-standing partnership with the Académie de Strasbourg, there is an opportunity later this year for organisations in the East Midlands to take on a winter intern.

The interns will be students from Lycée Docteur Koeberlé – Selestat, a secondary school equivalent to an FE college in the Alsace region of France, who will be visiting the region to take part in eight-week placements.

The students are the equivalent to second year sixth form students in the UK and will be visiting in November and December this year.

emfec is helping the school to find suitable placements for these students, either of eight weeks or two sets of four weeks, where two partner organisations are interested in sharing an intern over the eight-week period.

The objective of the programme is to help the students to improve their language skills and acquire commercial experience, preferably in management, customer service, marketing and accountancy.

The opportunity to support a French intern is open to all organisations across the East Midlands who will be able to support the student in one of the areas mentioned above. It would be preferable, although is not essential, for someone in the workplace to be able to speak some French in order to help the intern develop their English language skills.

Travel and accommodations costs for the students will be fully funded by the Erasmus + programme, which provides funding for the partnership between emfec and the Académie de Strasbourg.

If you are interested in taking on an intern during this period, please contact Jonathan Poxon, Projects Manager, at emfec by the end of September by emailing him or calling 0115 854 1623.
