A national survey has reported an increase in student satisfaction at Loughborough College – further boosting its excellent track record.
The latest annual National Student Survey (NSS) showed that learners studying higher education programmes at the College rated it 88% for overall satisfaction. This is a 10% increase from last year and is above the national average.
Loughborough College students were also shown to remain amongst the most employable in the country with the Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) survey showing 98% of them in employment or further study six months after graduating from the College.
Business and Management and Care and Public Services higher education students at Loughborough College recorded overall satisfaction of 100% in the NSS. A Sport student overall satisfaction score of 96% at the College meanwhile represents an increase of 11% on the previous year.
The NSS survey is commissioned by the Office for Students and asks final year undergraduates from 413 universities and colleges across the UK to give honest feedback on what it has been like to study on their course at their institution. Questions relate to teaching, organisation and management, academic support and learning resources and also invite individual comments and the results are made available to help students decide where to study and to shape future academic experience.

“We have worked extremely hard as a department this year to capture and act upon the student voice, involving students in the key decision making processes in order to provide an experience which they value. This has really shone through in the NSS results this year whereby overall student satisfaction has risen by an incredible 10% from last year to 88% which is 5% above the sector average.
“Whilst we are delighted to see the overall satisfaction of our Undergraduate students increase this year, with some areas achieving an impressive 100% overall satisfaction we are aiming to do better each year by developing new ways to extend and enhance our student’s experience through enterprise, Student Union activity, innovative curriculum design and investments into our estate and facilities.
“As well as our fantastic NSS results, our students remain some of the most employable in the country with a staggering 98% of them in employment or further study six months after graduating from us as outlined by the Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) Survey. This again is testament to the hard work of the department in ensuring our suite of provision provides our students with the knowledge, skills and experience required to become successful in their chosen industry.”
