Loughborough College has joined finalists from across the country for a parliamentary reception in London after being shortlisted for the 2020 FE Week and AELP AAC Apprenticeship Awards.

The College, which has been rated Outstanding by Ofsted for its apprenticeships, has been named as a finalist for Legal, Finance and Accounting Apprenticeship Provider of the Year in the prestigious national awards, which celebrate excellence in apprenticeship delivery.

The parliamentary reception formally recognising the national finalists was hosted by the Rt Hon. Robert Halfon MP, Chair of the Education Select Committee and former Skills and Apprenticeship Minister.

Loughborough College Head of Employer Engagement and Apprenticeships, Paula Allerton, said: “I am truly delighted that Loughborough College has been shortlisted for the prestigious AAC Apprenticeship Awards, and has been recognised and celebrated nationally for the outstanding delivery of our apprenticeship training.

“Loughborough College has built a wealth of experience and expertise over more than 20 years of delivering apprenticeships, which not only helps learners on their pathway to success but also benefits employers of all sizes across the region and supports the Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP) growth strategy.

“One of the key growth areas for the LLEP is Finance and Professional Services, and Leicestershire, which has a significant number of financial organisations, is expecting to see an increase in jobs in this area over the next few years. To support this development, the College offers accountancy apprenticeships across a range of levels, delivered by our experienced tutors, which enable fantastic progression opportunities.”

The 2020 FE Week and AELP AAC Apprenticeship Awards winners will be announced at the Annual Apprenticeship Conference Gala Dinner and Awards Evening in March.
