12 November 2016

Throughout the week we have been sharing success stories from our Centres  as part of Youth Work Week 2016 to celebrate the brilliant training they do with youth workers to help local communities to provide vital youth work.

So you might now be wondering what role we play in youth work and how we develop our qualifications to provide the best possible knowledge and skills training for youth workers.

ABC Awards is one of the leading awarding organisations for offering Ofqual-regulated youth work related qualifications and we work closely with key professional associations across the UK including UK Youth, National Youth Agency, National Council for Voluntary Organisations, National Association for Voluntary and Community Action, Prince’s Trust and Skills for Justice.

We work with these organisations to ensure that our qualifications are consistently fit for purpose and provide our Centres with the most up-to-date approaches to training youth workers from Level 1 through to Level 4.

From introductory qualifications that help people with an interest in working with young people to understand youth work, to those wanting to build specialist and transferable skills in supporting vulnerable young people, we provide the resources and support to enable young people to maximise their potential.

The Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications in youth work practice can also be used as the combined qualification element of Level 2 and Level 3 apprenticeships in both England and Wales, which is a great way to give trainee youth workers the opportunity to earn as they learn via a well-known vocational programme.

Alternatively, if you are just looking for youth work taster opportunities, perhaps as part of a wider vocational school programme or incorporated into your training as an employer, we offer individual units at just £9 per learner from our Unit Bank.

All ABC Awards Centres are supported by our wide range of highly experienced moderators each with decades of experience and knowledge within the field of youth and community work.

If you are interested in becoming an ABC Awards Centre for youth work or would like to expand your portfolio to include youth work qualifications, don’t hesitate to call our team on 0115 854 1620.
