23 September 2025
Welcome back to another monthly blog! This month has been full of exciting milestones, big changes, and new opportunities, so let’s dive right in!
First of all, I’ve officially turned 19! It’s crazy to think that at 17, I left sixth form and started my apprenticeship. Stepping into the world of work at such a young age was both exciting and a little daunting, but looking back now, I’m so proud of how far I’ve come.
Turning 19
Turning 19 feels like the start of a fresh chapter, but it’s also given me time to pause and reflect on what I’ve already achieved so early in my career. None of this would have been possible without my incredible team at Skills and Education Group. They are truly inclusive, kind, and supportive, they constantly push me to grow. They even surprised me with thoughtful moving in gifts that made me feel so appreciated. I feel very lucky to be surrounded by such amazing people, and I’m beyond grateful for this journey so far.
Business Growth and Marketing
Something really exciting has happened this month: the marketing team has expanded! Our organisation is shifting direction, with a new focus on growth and our marketing team joined forces with the new business growth team,. On the 1st of September, we had a big strategy meeting together, which was not only productive but also a brilliant chance to get to know one another.
Appraisal
I’ve had my appraisal this month too, which gave me the chance to reflect on my performance over the past year. I felt nervous, but it was actually such a positive experience! I’m really proud of how much I’ve achieved as a multi-channel marketing apprentice. Learning on the job suits me perfectly, I find I learn best by doing, which is why this apprenticeship has been so beneficial. I adore it, and I can’t wait to set new goals to work towards before my next appraisal.
Leeds Music Festival
Outside of work, I had the chance to go to Leeds Festival at the end of August. Music festivals are always amazing, but something that really stood out was seeing Stamp Out Spiking there. Since spiking is such a serious issue at festivals, it was brilliant to see them raising awareness and supporting people. Knowing that I work with an organisation partnered with them made me feel proud, it was an honour to see their impact in action.
Moving Out
Another huge milestone for me, I officially moved out! Woo! I never thought I’d be able to move out at 18, but here I am. This has only been possible because of my apprenticeship. Not only has it developed my skills, boosted my confidence, and helped me build connections, but it’s also allowed me to reach personal goals like gaining independence and making my commute so much easier. Apprenticeships truly open the door to so many opportunities, and I’m so grateful to the Skills and Education Group for making this possible.
Conclusion
In conclusion, this month has been one of growth, change, and celebration. From turning 19 and moving into my own flat, to seeing my team expand and reflecting on my achievements, I feel more motivated than ever. Here’s to embracing new challenges, continuing to learn, and making the most of every opportunity that comes my way!
