We now have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Finance Officer.
About the role
The Finance Officer will play an important role in supporting the financial operations of the Skills and Education Group and its associated companies. You will be responsible for processing day-to-day financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
Working closely with the Head of Finance, you will help ensure the smooth running of the organisation’s financial systems by reconciling accounts, preparing invoices, and assisting with financial reporting and audits. This role is key to maintaining the integrity and accuracy of our financial processes and providing a reliable service to both internal and external stakeholders.
The successful candidate will:

Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.

Prepare and issue invoices, process payments, and maintain accurate financial records.

Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, petty cash, and other financial accounts.

Support financial reporting, audits, and ad hoc data analysis.

Ensure compliance with financial procedures and regulatory requirements.
Who we are looking for
To be successful in this role, you will have experience working in a finance or accounts environment, with a solid understanding of financial processes such as invoicing, reconciliations, and ledger management. You should have excellent attention to detail, strong numerical and organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks accurately and efficiently.
You will be confident using financial software and Microsoft Excel, and able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential, as you’ll be liaising with colleagues across departments and external partners.
Experience in the education or charity sector would be advantageous, but not essential.
