Do you teach GCSE English resits?
Would you like to explore some creative and supportive strategies to aid your delivery of this subject?
If the answer is yes, then come and join us for this useful and informative online session that will consider the importance of Mastery and how to adapt and adopt this approach in an FE GCSE English resit setting.
FE English teachers routinely suggest that the sector receives insufficient support on how to address the teaching of this subject. This webinar will aim to address this imbalance and recognise that the teaching of GCSE English is markedly different in FE compared to a school setting.
This course will cover the following:
-
Mastery - what is it and why is it so important for resit learners?
-
Contextualisation - what as practitioners do we need to consider when working with resit learners?
-
GCSE specifications - an overview and how to teach the course in a short space of time with strategies and tips for how to answer each question on the papers.
How does Mastery fit into this? Practical evidence-backed ideas for incorporating this into your practice.
This course can be tailored to your own setting and exam board and by the end of the session, those attending will come away with a variety of useful teaching resources and strategies to support learners who are retaking their exams.
