Creative arts students at North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College’s Hinckley Campus are celebrating the end of the academic year and showcasing their work online for the second year running as Covid restrictions continue. Arts and media students have collaborated on a virtual exhibition to showcase students’ work which launches today and will be available to view online until June 2022.
The show, entitled ‘Surface’, marks the culmination of two years’ hard work for final year students who are unveiling their work in art and design, fashion and textiles, games design, graphic design, journalism, interior design, performing arts, photography, and visual media.
It includes a huge range of original creative work from fashion design based on the Baroque era, and a performance that explores the issues of social media, to photography that showcases the impact of nature in lockdown, and fresh new magazines on sport and women’s issues.
Carrie-Anne Abdulai, director of higher education and senior manager at the Hinckley Campus at NWSLC said: “This show marks the culmination of months of hard work and dedication by our staff and students and will provide a fantastic opportunity for us to celebrate their achievements and see first-hand the high standard of work that students produce at our creative arts campus in Hinckley.”
“With Covid restrictions on physical events still in place, we have enabled students to share their work online providing them with an opportunity to celebrate their creativity and recognise their achievements. Prospective students who are interested in the creative arts can find out more on the college website at nwslc.ac.uk.”
